What I expect to learn in this class
I want to take my design to the next level. With every graphic design class I have taken here, I have been able to see my work improve. I work on advertisement pieces on a daily basis. The work I produce is good, although it’s sometimes hard to know how I can make it great. I want to receive feedback from this class on how I can establish a consistent pattern of great design. I want to learn how to work to the level of the business where I could potentially be employed.
If you could choose a project to work on/subject to learn in this class what would it be?
Design Brief: Take a previously designed piece and expand upon it. Design a t-shirt, a website and a large banner. Make sure that your work has been improved in concept, design ad craftsmanship. After the pieces have been critiqued and finalized you will put your pieces together in a mock portfolio to be reviewed by the professor as if he was your potential employer.
What issues are you biggest concerns with you developing as a designer?
One of my concerns as a designer is a lack of feedback. I’m not always going to have the luxury of student critiques or feedback from professors to help improve my designs. At work sometimes I feel like I don’t have anyone to turn to for good advice because I am the only graphic designer in my office.
